Frequently asked questions

Why was HB4 Diversity, Inc. started?

HB4 Diversity, Inc. was founded in November of 2015, in response to rising sentiment of inequity in society against marginalized individuals. Many large cities with diverse communities have organizations similar to HB4 and are already doing great work. HB4's focus is on rural towns and communities with small populations of diversity. While we do not criticize small towns, we must acknowledge when small towns lack diversity it limits the opportunity to talk with people of different backgrounds. HB4 is dedicated to bringing diverse people together to address these divisions.

What does HB4 do?

We work with educators, informal community groups, and organizations to support and educate on anti-racism and racial equity, LGBTQ+ Advocacy, and Anti-Religious Discrimination. The staff of HB4 Diversity regularly give keynote presentations, moderate discussions, facilitate workshops created by our trained curriculum experts, and provide feedback on policy. For more information about how we can help and partner with you, please email us at info@hb4diversity.org

Is HB4 affiliated with any one political party?

No. HB4 Diversity is a nonpartisan organization and does not endorse or oppose any candidates in elections to public office. We welcome all RESPECTFUL political views.

Does HB4 plan to bring mandatory programs to school districts? And does HB4 plan to teach children?

While we love children, our trainings and workshops are designed for adults and, of course, are voluntary.

When we first began HB4 we briefly discussed working with children, as a few of our staff members are teachers and parents. As with any good non-profit organization model, we accessed our goals and found our path is more aligned to working with adults to promote dialogue and to offer assistance when appropriate to leaders in various groups who seek to promote greater inclusivity.
